Now that I'm a mom, wife, and business owner, I truthfully don't get out much on Friday and Saturday nights anymore. This past Friday was an exception! I was asked to photograph the Children's Discovery Museum's Hot Jazz and Glad Rags Roaring 20's fundraiser at the Hotel Morgan and was so honored to help their cause. We have been to the museum quite a few times for both birthday parties and play dates, AND I also worked with them for a semester during my undergraduate degree for public relations at WVU, so this organization has been near and dear to my heart for years now! Though the Children's Discovery Museum is already a great place to take your children, the organization has many goals for the future that I am excited to see take shape! If you have children and have never been, I urge you to stop by sometime and check it out... there is nothing else in Morgantown like it!
The event, which took place at Hotel Morgan in downtown Morgantown, included music by the High St. Jazz Band (amazing by the way!), a dance performance by the WVU hip hop team (ALSO amazing), as well as delicious food and drinks provided by Hotel Morgan. All of the guests had an amazing time while decked out in their best 20's outfits, and I think it is safe to say the event was a great success. Angela, president of the board, who I was in contact with prior to the event, did the speaking during the fundraiser and I have to give her a shout out because she did so amazing, and I know this is something her heart and soul are really in. As she spoke you could really feel her passion for this organization, and I have no doubt that the museum will be successful in meeting all of its goals in the near future with such driven people behind it! I am already looking forward to the Children Discovery Museum's next event, and can't wait to gather up a group of my friends to join me!
