Last week I had the pleasure of photographing another non-profit event in Morgantown. I love that the "slow" season has allowed me to get out and give back to the community. I love shooting events, and I was excited to be asked to come back for my second Ronald McDonald House Charities of Morgantown event. This time the event took place right in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen. Though I'd been to the house to help with breakfast a few times in college, this was a completely different experience.
The organization held their 2nd Annual Chef's Challenge on February 3, 2013 and they had a great turnout! Chef Chris McDonald of Stefano's, the reigning champion and chef Diana Rice, Bon Appetit Personal Chef Service went head to head in cooking up creative and delicious dishes for the panel of judges. Chef Stefano came out on top for the second year in a row! His take on "green eggs and ham" was delicious from what I hear, though I wasn't able to try it because it wasn't gluten free. Chef Rice's dish, on the other hand, was gluten AND dairy free so I was able to sample it with the rest of the audience following the cook-off. Her salmon and lentil creation was very, good, which made me wish I had the money to hire her on full time ;). Congratulations, again, to Chef McDonald of Stefano's restaurant! I urge you all to try out his restaurant, as well as Chef Rice's personal chef services if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed!
